What to Expect:

Every lesson will begin with a warm welcome and warm up. The warm up could include stretching, agilities, and/or exercises specific to the type of lesson. The meat of the lesson will include different drills and explicit instruction and breakdown. Towards the end will be an opportunity to show what has been taught through different activities (specific goals for pitchers, front toss for hitters, throw downs for catchers, etc.) Some lessons will end with a "post-workout" based on what the student needs work in (speed/agility, power, balance/stability, strength, etc.)

Scheduling:

Click on the "book a lesson" tab to find your player's name and schedule your lesson. Dates & times for two weeks out will be posted on the calendar. Full payment will be required when booking your lesson. When booking, please pay attention to the lesson location and whether the lesson is 30 or 60 minutes. When you click on your date/time, you will then select the type of lesson and fill in a little more information. You will get a confirmation email and calendar invite after you book your session.

Parent or player assistance at lessons (catching/machine):

Pitchers are welcome to bring their own catcher (as long as the person is competent in catching and there is no big risk of injury). This can be a parent, sibling, teammate, etc. If a catcher is unable to be present, I do not mind catching pitchers during the lesson. I enjoy it actually, so no worries there! With fielding/throwing lessons, it is recommended another person of assistance be there to catch balls from your child. If not possible, drills can be modified. A parent may be asked to also feed balls into the pitching machine for hitting lessons so I can coach and video!

Attire for 941 Diamond Academy:

There is no AC/heat in the main part of the building, but the air circulation will be sufficient with all the fans going. At-shirt or tank top and shorts is recommended in hot months, and a long sleeve shirt and pants is recommended for the cooler months.  Tennis shoes or turf shoes required (no cleats, no sandals, no bare feet).
